Emma was originally diagnosed with Very High Risk Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, a blood cancer, on January 17, 2012. She went through 2.5 years of very difficult chemotherapy treatment and did amazingly well. Shortly after her cancer journey started, she found her passion of helping other kids fighting childhood cancer, which led her to found Emma Rose-A Patient Helping Patients. Through this foundation, Emma collects and delivers 60+ adorably wrapped comfort gift packages each month to her fellow patients at Children’s Hospital of WI. This has allowed her the opportunity to meet and befriend many young warriors, many of whom she has grown very close to. These children, along with her love for the amazing nurses who saved her life, inspired her to major in nursing at Saint Mary’s College, so that she can pursue her dream career of being a pediatric oncology nurse.
However, on December 27th, 2016, Emma and her family learned her leukemia had returned, just a few weeks short of the milestone “5 year mark”. She faces another two years of grueling treatment, even more difficult than her first journey. Emma Rose has brought much love, joy, and support to hundreds of young cancer fighters and their families over the years. Thank you for taking the time to support Emma and her family now.
